Take your kids to work day

Today is "Take your kids to work" day at my office. There are a lot of kids running around the cubicles with and without their parents. I heard there are 650 kids registered for this event. I volunteered to be one of the scooper for the Ice Cream Social in the evening. There are 15 of us volunteered. Four of us got the topping areas and the rest of us became the ice cream scoopers. The event was supposed to start at 3.45pm, but by 3.30pm a lot of kids has already waited in line to get their ice cream! So the booth opened 10 minutes earlier. Those kids are really funny. Whenever I handed an ice cream to them, they wanted to pick one for themselves and compared one to another to get the biggest scoop! The parents were hilarious as well. Some of them are pretty shy to ask if they could get one for themselves. As soon as I told them "you could get one for yourself if you want", they were like "oh, really?" and they took one with a big happy smile, just like their kids. After around 30 minutes, the kids that have already got their ice cream came back and brought their spoons. They said they wanted a second ice cream and they showed us their spoons. We were kinda' confused, but we let them took the ice cream anyway. After a while, we found out that someone said near the topping areas that the kids could get another round of ice cream if they brought their spoons inside. There is this one little boy that asked for his second ice cream from me. He showed me his spoon and I gave him one more cup of ice cream with another spoon. He tried to used his spoon from before and because the cup wasn't that big and both of his hands were full, he asked me "how about my spoon? can I just use my old spoon instead of this one?" He's soooo innocent when he told me that. So I told him to throw away the old spoon and just use the new spoon. He smiled and walked away.
After about an hour, there were not that many kids around asking for ice cream, so we got our cup of ice creams and of course a lot of toppings! The ice cream is really good! I put some hershey's chocolate and m&ms. It looked like the cafetaria sold the ice cream for $2.95 per scoop! It's much more expensive than cold stone! And cold stone toppings are better too. I got one for my mentor as well, but he wasn't in his cube, so I just put it there with a note. Hopefully it didn't melt by the time he got back to his cube.
I will have another ice cream social event on Monday =D Free ice cream is really nice especially during summer time! And the kids were cute too =)
