what's the point of asking if you just do what you want anyway?

I was telling you that my ear was bleeding..and yet, watching tv is still more important..

Sometimes, I just wish you could be more understanding..and expressive..

Promise Ring

Friday, October 26, 2007

I learned something new today..

---------------

A promise ring is a ring indicating a serious promise made to oneself or to another. It may be given to a romantic partner to signify a commitment to a monogamous relationship, without a more lasting bond such as marriage. Lovers mostly exchange promise rings to indicate their commitment to the relationship they have.

Promise rings are bestowed to symbolize a promise that one person makes to another. In some cases, promise rings are precursors to engagement rings. While the latter symbolize a promise to marry, promise rings can stand for many other kinds of vows.

  • Promise rings can mean: "I will be faithful to you"
  • Promise rings can mean: "I will return to you"
  • Promise rings can mean: "I will keep a specific promise to you"
  • Promise rings can mean: "I will keep your secret"
  • Promise rings can mean: "I love you"
  • Promise rings can mean: "My intention is to marry you, but I'm not yet ready to become engaged"
  • Promise rings can mean: "I will save my virginity for you"
  • Promise rings can mean: "We are best friends"
  • Promise rings can mean: "I will always be there for you"
  • Promise rings can mean: "You are my one and only Valentine"
  • Promise rings can mean: "I promise to abstain from a vice (gambling, drinking, smoking)"
  • Promise rings can mean: "I promise to replace this ring with a (larger) diamond one as soon as I can afford it"

Both men and women can give promise rings.

I hate love

Saturday, October 20, 2007

"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love." --Neil Gaiman

Happy Beginning with Unpleasant Ending

Continuing with my previous post, so I went to the Platinum Sponsored Night events at 6pm. I had sooo much fun. There were a lot of free goodies. And also the door prize. Although I didn't win anything. We took some pictures which I will post later, because it's not in my camera. The event lasted until about 10pm. I came with an empty bag and I left with a bloated and heavy bag. It was fun overall. I was planning to go to downtown disney again afterwards, but I was too tired and decided to just lay down my bed for a while. I felt lil bit dizzy probably because I had a beer, but I went downstairs to check some emails and chat for a little bit. It turned out that the chats and phone calls messed up and caused me not to sleep at all now *sigh* What a waste! But the event was really fun though ^^ For all Hoppers, see you all in the next Gracehopper Conference next year.

Gracehopper Conference 2007

Friday, October 19, 2007

I've been spending my 2 days in Orlando, FL to attend the 2007 Gracehopper Conference. I was one day late because I still had an exam on Wednesday night. Thursday morning 5am, I left my apartment and drove my way to Indi airport. Usually, it only takes 1.5 hours top to get to the airport. Guess how many hours it took me last Thursday? 4.5 freakin' hours! I was stuck and really stuck at the same spot for over 3 hours! There's probably an accident or something which I haven't found out til now. I missed my morning flight and was on the stand by list for the next flight, which fortunately still has a seat for me.

I reached Orlando around 12.30pm and took a shuttle to the hotel. I went to the hotel room, got my registration packet and went to 2 of the sessions that day. There were a lot of sessions in the conference, but I just feel that the other sessions are targeting mostly master/phd students, which I found really boring =P There are more companies coming this year. I was told there were about 68 companies attending this year. It was doubled or probably tripled than last year's conference. What does that mean? MORE GOODIES! Haha..I love career fairs where companies are coming and giving out fun cool stuffs ;)

There are a lot of women here who work in technical computer science field. To describe a lot, let's just say that even the men restroom around the conference area were turned to women restroom to accommodate all the women in the conference. Here's one of the example that I grab from another blogger attending this conference as well.

Today (Friday), I went to Downtown Disney, which is just across the hotel, for a walk and was planning to buy some gifts. There were tons of Disney shops and I feel like I'm in Disney's Heaven =D If I have the money, I will buy everything in the store!! This afternoon, there will be a Platinum Sponsored Event in Universal City Walk. Hopefully I will get some funs there and I'm planning to go to Downtown Disney again tonight after going back from the event. I need to wake up early tomorrow because my flight is @ 9am and the shuttle will pick me up @ 5.50am. *sigh* going back to reality! I have a make up exam on Sunday (yes, it's on Sunday!), project due on Wednesday and I could breath freely after that!

For those of you who got a chance to go to Gracehopper Conference, GO! I could assure you that you would have a lot of fun and new experiences. Next year will be @ Colorado..Can't wait! Anyway, I need to get ready for the Platinum Sponsored Event. I'll post some pictures later(if I get one)!

[ Grab me and dont let go ]

When i start cussing at you
[ Kiss me and tell me you love me ]

When im quiet
[ Ask me whats wrong ]

When i ignore you
[ Give me your attention ]

When i pull away
[ Pull me back ]

When you see me at my worst
[ Tell me im beautiful ]

When you see me start crying
[ Hold me and tell me everything will be alright ]

When you see me walking
[ Sneak up and hug my waist from behind ]

When im scared
[ Protect me ]

When i lay my head on your shoulder
[ Tilt my head up and kiss me ]

When i tease you
[ Tease me back and make me laugh ]

When i dont answer for a long time
[ reassure me that everything is okay ]

When i look at you with doubt

When i say that i like you
[ I really do more than you could understand ]

When i grab at your hands
[ Hold mine and play with my fingers ]

When i bump into you
[ bump into me back and make me laugh ]

When i tell you a secret
[ keep it safe and untold ]

When i look at you in your eyes
[ dont look away until i do ]

When i miss you

When you break my heart
[ the pain never really goes away ]

When i say its over
[ i still want you to be mine ]
